Looking for the Best Tour in Bali?
Taking the time to plan your entire vacation can be A LOT of work. There are so many beautiful things to see and do in Bali, Indonesia that it’s practically impossible to see everything within a short stay. Too many people spend their entire Bali holiday in the beach towns of Kuta, Seminyak, or Sanur. We spent two full months exploring the island of Bali and can tell you from experience, the best of the island is far far away from those places. Now, I’ll start by saying we aren’t typically “tour people”, however this is the best and easiest way to explore parts of Bali that are off the beaten path. With that said, here is a small recap of the best tour in Bali which is a 2 day, 1 night tour with Bali Golden Tour exploring hidden spots in Ubud, Mt. Batur, and the incredible region of northern Bali.
Day 1 – Tour of Ubud, Tegallalang Rice Terraces and Mount Batur
Bali Golden Tour will pick you up at your hotel at 8am to embark on a drive to Ubud. The first event is to watch a traditional Balinese Hindu dance called the Barong and Kris dance. The dance is only performed 1x/day and up until 1990, it was never shown to a single tourist.
After you enjoy the hour long performance you’ll head to see local artisans in Ubud creating silver, wood, and painting works. Keep in mind, this part of the tour is pretty “touristy” but it’s great for anyone interested in local goods.
Next up is one of our favorite stops of the day, Tegallalang Rice Terraces. If you’ve seen any Bali rice terraces on Instagram, there is a 90% chance your’e looking at Tegallalang. Although this is a popular tourist destination, the rice terraces are so large that it’s easy to find spots all to yourself. Tegallalang is the ultimate spot to take pictures that will make your friends at home wish they were on vacation with you.
After the rice terraces, you’ve probably worked up quite an appetite. How about lunch overlooking one of Bali’s two volcanoes? Yes please! Bali Golden Tour will take you to a wonderful restaurant overlooking Mount Batur. Because the volcano and surrounding town is about 1,500 meters in elevation, you will experience some fresh cool mountain air which is extremely refreshing.
Last, but certainly not least, is a 2 hour drive to North Bali for an overnight stay on Lovina Beach. Bali Golden Tour puts you into a beautiful 3 star hotel directly on the beachfront. Here you can unwind for an action packed day and have dinner overlooking a beautiful Bali sunset.

Day 2 – Lovina Dolphin Tour, Buddhist Monastery & Twin Lakes
Day 2 starts bright and early at 5am for the Lovina Dolphin Tour. Sail off into the sunrise with a private boat to experience 5 different species of dolphins in their natural habitat. Although you will be surrounded with other boats, the dolphin watching in Lovina Beach was truly special. In fact, it’s a perfect activity if you’re going on the best tour in Bali with your family.
Next up you’ll have breakfast at the hotel and drive to a natural hot spring about 15 minutes away to relax. Although we chose not tospend too much time here, it’s a nice place to relax and hang out with family and friends
Our favorite part of the tour was the next stop, the biggest Buddhist monastery in all of Bali. This place was seriously magical and we were just about the only people there! The monastery was huge and included a few decorative pagodas, a “gate” where you could take some amazing photos (are you following us on Instagram yet?), and a smaller scale replica of Borobur which is the largest Buddhist monastery in the world. We highly suggest you plan to spend an hour here admiring the local Balinese buddhist culture.
Your next stop on day 2 will be to admire a viewpoint overlooking Twin Lakes. Spend a few minutes here admiring the scenery and even grab a local Luwak Coffee if you need an energy boost.
Finally, the last stop on the 2 day 1 night tour throughout Bali is to have a buffet lunch and visit the gorgeous grounds of Ulun Danu temple. Here, you will still be able to enjoy the crisp mountain air and walk around incredibly well manicured grounds.
Fun Fact: Luwak Coffee is a regional specialty which is brewed from the poop droppings of a Luwak (mammal). Adventurous souls must try!
To sum things up, we think this 2 day 1 night tour is the best way to experience more of Bali without wasting time researching and organizing your own transportation.
