it wont work no matter what i do. ive tried copying the zip straight into the transitions folder and nothing and muchhhh more that consumed four hours lol

You don’t need Motion, but these are Motion files that were created in Motion 5. You are not supposed to click on them to open. You are supposed to copy the files in the Zip folder to the corresponding folder for your FCP. Please watch this video on how to properly install plugins for FCP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KidGKz9LxEU

I just double checked the download file and everything works perfectly fine. There are also over 1500 downloads of this plugin and no others are facing issues. Please make sure you have the latest version of FCPX and that you are installing it correctly.

Hey there! I have been receiving the same problems with the transitions as Hannie. I have the Final Cut Pro 10.4.5 and it also asks me to download motion 5 (with no such app existing). In your video, the transition has the little sort of ‘X’ on it, mine is just a blank page. Any help would be appreciated!

  3. Zain says:

Like many others, it didn’t work for me either. You reply to every comment saying that it works for you. That doesn’t solve the problem that the transition doesn’t work on anyone else’s fcp. I place the transition into my timeline. Then while the video was playing that part, there was a red screen where the transition was supposed to occur.

    • DeathByVlog says:

Hi Zain, I just tested the download and it’s working fine on my installation of FCP version 10.4.8. Given the fact there are over 5500 downloads for this transition, I can assure you that if the transition was broken, there would be FAR more comments here and I would be getting emails every day πŸ˜‰

Please be sure you’re using the latest version of FCP and to follow the installation tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KidGKz9LxEU

    Just installed on FCPX 10.4.8.
    Followed directions in the video.
    Works perfectly.
    Thanks!
(I also (re)bought a transition that I’d lost due to an SSD failure. Installed perfectly. )

    Hi all,

I’m afraid I also fall into the group who have downloaded this, followed the install instructions as per the link, and have the following result: where the transition should be in my timeline – when played the red screen (missing media) screen appears.

Has anybody from the thread who had the initial problem as me found a solution as to what is causing the incompatibility? I’m running FCPX 10.4, but I see DBV is running 10.4.8.

    Regards
    Marcus

      Hi Marcus,

I can confirm the plugins definitely work as I just tested installing on a secondary copy of FCP. Also, you’ll see a comment from Kirk below who is also running 10.4.8 and the plugins are working fine for him as well. Please make sure you’re installing the folders in the correct location on your Mac. Let me know how it goes…

i see everybody is having trouble with downloading, so here:
    1. drag the file out onto your desktop (home screen)
    2. open finder, hover over go at the top of your screen
    3. under go, find ‘home’
    4. in home, open up the file ‘movies’
    5. click on ‘motion templates’
    6. click on ‘transitions’
    7. drag the folder from your desktop to the transitions folder
    8. wait for a little bit, restart fcp, then it should be there.
i hope i helped, if not, there’s always better tutorials out there on youtube hehehe

Hi! Please make sure you are using the latest version of FCP. At the time of this comment I have 10.5.1 installed and it’s working as expected. Please also follow the installation tutorial at the top of the downloads page. Maybe you missed a step when installing.

      Happy editing!

Ok, these were actually really easy to install, and they work perfectly, thank you so much!!! πŸ™‚
Question: is it any way to modify the opacity of these transitions?
    Big hug from Barcelona!
