Denoise Effect FCPX

Notice: All downloads were built to be used with the latest version of Final Cut Pro (10.4.+)

Ever choose the wrong settings, or shoot in low light scenarios and end up with noise in your footage? Here is a great little plugin to help reduce some of that noise. Please note: this may not work on all footage. It also does not work with 4K footage.

Hi, please make sure you have the Denoise effect in the correct folder location: Motion Templates > Effects > Denoise. Also make sure you are running the latest version of Final Cut Pro 10.4.+ and everything should work perfectly once the clip is fully rendered 🙂

Awesome bro! Thanks so much… I bought Neat Video, and it works well but my computer was struggling to run it. With this plugin it works beautifully. Not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but you need to render the clip to really appreciate what this plugin can do. Thanks so much.

I’ve got it to install, but I cant get it to make my footage look any better. How about a tutorial for various scenarios? People talking into a camera, people walking by, static shots of buildings etc? Detail recovery just seems to sharpen the footage. Every combination of sliders I’ve tried are not removing any “Colour noise”. Thanks

    • DeathByVlog says:

Render the clip first and you should see the difference. As I mentioned in the video, it may not work on all variations of footage noise, but most everyone that uses it see good results once rendered.

When I try to use the effect it gives me the error “file does not exist” and the file if I put it in effect.

Thanks in advance. You can write to me at therockingpictures@gmail.com.

First make sure you are using the latest version of FCP 10.4 and up. If that doesn’t solve the problem do the following:

Right click Effects folder and “Get Info”. 3. Under Names & Extension, make sure you see “Effects.localized”

      • djkor says:

This was the trick. I started without the Effects folder and just simply added it. I then added the “.localized” to the end under “Get Info” and it worked.

I also have the same problem.
I have dragged the whole Denoise folder from Downloads to the Effects folder in Motion Templates with the latest version of Final Cut Pro 10.4.2 and running High Sierra but it still does not show up in FCPX at all.I have followed your instructions to the letter & it still does not work.It is not going to show up.

Hey, thanks for the brilliant tutorial. Loved it! Wondering if there is a way to tweek the Denoise plugin to work with my FCP 7 … I know, I know …everyone is on X. 12 years of editing, same iMac. Its just a tool 🙂
    Would really appreciate any insights.
    Keep up the good work!

To compare the two FCP7 feels like poking my eyes out with a red hot poker. Get FCPX and you will be up and running in a week and will be telling all the other FCP7 users still clinging on for dear life what they are missing out on. Really going over to FCPX is like going from black and white to colour.

Hey, I would really like to use this plug in however I have the 10.2.1 and update is not an option. Is there any alternative you could suggest?

    • DeathByVlog says:

I just uploaded a new tutorial video on how to properly install the plugins. Please check the channel or the downloads page for the video.

I also do this: Right click Effects folder and “Get Info”.

Under Names & Extension, make sure you see “Effects.localized”

BUT. definitely, it does not work.

Please, any solution? Thank you very much

    Hello there,
I registered to be able to download a couple of your plugins , however it won’t let me as its says I need to be a registered user which I am now, and be logged in, which I am . Can you please help?

    • DeathByVlog says:

Hello, Please try clearing your browser cache, restart and try logging in again. Let me know how that works.

  15. NTKing says:

Would you consider a slightly longer tutorial on how to use the plugin? I am not quite sure which way to move the sliders for the best results.

    Cheers

  16. Katie says:

hey what if you don’t have an effects folder within the movie folder? Where do I put the Denoise file? It doesn’t show up in my fcp effect options.
(thanks for the free plugin, I’ve been using it for about a year and love it, I’ve just upgraded computers and having trouble reinstalling)
